Lately we have been focusing on non-fiction texts and learning about animals. We have also been watching Alcoa's Bald Eagle Cam!! The students have been loving watching the nest and now watching the two eaglets, Pat and Lucky!!

Experimenting with Magnets!
Last week we did am experiment to see which magnet was the strongest. The students had to make paper clip chains and record how many paper clips each magnet would hold. They made predictions, recorded their procedure, and tallied the results!!
100th Day!!
We had a great day celebrating 100 wonderful days of school!! Grandma Durham and Granny Moore came by, we made 100 necklaces, ate our 100 snack, and got a visit by Zero the Hero!!

Native American Feast
We had lots of fun celebrating today! We had the three sisters (corn, beans, and squash), which were staple foods for the Native Americans. We also had (gummy) fish! Thank you to everyone who helped and donated for our feast!!

Election Day Fun!
Happy Election Day!! We discussed elections in general and read the book Duck for President. We then held a mock election with voter registration cards, ballots, and stickers! Mr Turcotte was pretty pleased with the results!!

Labeling the Teacher
This week we worked on labeling. The students labeled an elephant and a bat then got a chance to label the teachers!! Encourage your child to look for labels in books they are reading!
